Netanyahu Condemns Settler Attacks In West Bank As ‘Criminal Acts’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned intensifying settler attacks in occupied West Bank villages of Qusra and Jalud, describing them as “criminal acts of violence.”

According to a report by Middle East Eye monitored by Northern Nigeria Hub on Friday, August 29, 2026, Netanyahu said in a statement:

“I strongly condemn the criminal acts of violence committed in the villages of Qusra and Jalud by a handful of rioters who are violating the law, causing a grave injustice to the law-abiding Jewish community, interfering with the IDF in carrying out its missions, and harming Israel’s standing in the world.”

The Middle East Eye report noted that earlier on Saturday, the Israeli military said they responded to clashes involving “Israeli rioters” in Qusra, where settlers had besieged a Palestinian home and attacked residents in several other homes.

Israeli forces said they removed settlers from the besieged house and would remain in the area to prevent further clashes.

However, the report added that Palestinian residents alleged Israeli forces instead tried to arrest Palestinians trapped inside the besieged home, and that a fourth house in Qusra was later targeted, with soldiers firing tear gas at residents, wounding homeowners.
