Kano Governor Settles N1.2m Phone Debt Of Slain Critic Dan Shagamu After His Murder
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has posthumously settled the N1.2 million phone debt owed by slain social media commentator, Ibrahim Khalil Dan Shagamu, through his aide, Dr. Abdulrahman Kirare.
The payment was confirmed in a video from the ‘Uban Harkallah’ phone shop in Kano, where the shop owner was seen holding bundles of cash totaling N1.2 million.
In the video, the shop owner Uban Harkallah, displays the N1.2 million cash while confirming receipt and thanking Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for clearing the outstanding debt.
The late Dan Shagamu had earlier been seen in a viral video taking a phone on credit from the same shop while appealing to the Kano State Government to assist him in paying.
Dan Shagamu, 54, was murdered at his residence in Gaida community, Kumbotso Local Government Area, after reportedly raising alarm over death threats. Police say investigation into his killing is ongoing.
