“No Party Will Get 20% In Northeast” — Sheriff Boasts, Projects 99% Votes For Tinubu

Former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, has boasted that no opposition party will secure up to 20 percent of votes in the Northeast, while projecting 99 percent votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

Former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, has declared that Borno State is the stronghold of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and called on all residents of the state to come out en masse to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Sheriff made the remarks in an interview with journalists shortly after the APC Presidential Campaign team led by former Zamfara State Governor and Campaign Director, Abdulaziz Yari, paid homage to the Shehu of Borno.

Sheriff, speaking in Hausa, said Borno has no excuse not to deliver the highest votes for the Tinubu/Shettima ticket, noting that since the time of Sir Kashim Ibrahim, Borno has never produced a Kanuri Vice President like Kashim Shettima.

“Borno is the stronghold of the APC. I want to call on every citizen of Borno — this ticket time for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we absolutely want everyone to come out.

So that Borno becomes number one in Nigeria. If we don’t do this, we haven’t done justice to ourselves, and we haven’t done justice to Nigeria.

The reason being, right from the time of Kashim Ibrahim, Borno has never gotten a Kanuri Vice President like Kashim.

We have no excuse in Borno. In fact, in all of Nigeria, we ought to be number one, let alone in this movement. I want to assure you that in this whole Northeast, we don’t expect any other party to even get 20%.

Instead, come election day, we have turned out and we will turn out; we have turned out and we will turn out. Because anyone in this region thinks we won’t get 90% or more in Borno, then we won’t agree with them.

In Yobe, we are targeting 99%. In Bauchi, we are targeting 99%. In Taraba… Am I considering that Atiku is from Adamawa? No! Because the people of Adamawa, the government, and the common people are all following APC right now.

This shows that the people of the entire Northeast believe in the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Because he has done things for us such that anyone with common sense knows we have no alternative other than Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

The former governor expressed confidence that the APC will dominate the Northeast, saying no opposition party will secure up to 20 percent of votes in the region, while the party is targeting over 90 percent in Borno and 99 percent in Yobe, Bauchi and other states in the zone.
