North Must Support Tinubu To The End, He Has Done What No President Did In 40 Years — Gov Uba Sani

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has declared that the North has no alternative but to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the President has shown love to the North and delivered infrastructure and security interventions that no administration achieved in 40 years.

Governor Uba Sani spoke at a gathering of Islamic scholars, Ulamas, and community stakeholders in Kaduna, where he called on political office holders and religious leaders in the North to exercise patience and fear God by telling the truth about the progress under Tinubu.

“Anyone who holds a political position in the North should exercise patience. Let us be patient with these people; this President is showing us love and affection in Northern Nigeria,” the Governor said.

He faulted the old pattern of northern politics where power was about wearing starched babbar riga and chasing contracts in Abuja while forgetting the poor, security and community development.

“As the Yobe Governor said, we did not gain power just to wear starched grand robes and claim power belongs to the North while everyone heads to Abuja chasing contracts. The poor have been forgotten, security has been forgotten, and community development has been forgotten. Therefore, we must speak the truth and fear God,” he said.

Uba Sani said his position aligns with that of the Governor of Gombe State — that the way forward for the North is to continue supporting Tinubu to complete his tenure.

“Let us return home without feeling shame or fear, let us come out and market what Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing. I am 100% convinced that the way forward for the North is to continue supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu so he completes his tenure smoothly and continues helping Northern Nigeria. That is our only way forward,” he stated.

Citing concrete projects, the Governor said for 40 years the people of Birnin Gwari cried for a road from Mando to Birnin Gwari, as confirmed by the Emir of Birnin Gwari, but no government did it until Tinubu allocated N178 billion for its reconstruction.

“We in Kaduna State and Northern states have witnessed this progress. For 40 years we were crying for a road from Mando to Birnin Gwari. Nobody built it. Bola Ahmed Tinubu came and allocated N178 billion, ordering that this road be reconstructed for us. Now, should we oppose him or should we support him?” he asked.

On the Abuja-Kaduna highway, Uba Sani said the road suffered 30 years of failed promises with insecurity cited as excuse.

“For 30 years we cried over that road. Work would start today and never be finished. Since Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived, he stepped in directly and paid N600 billion, insisting that this project must be completed from now to November this year. Who did this work for us?” he said.

He said the security improvement on the corridor is undeniable.

“Anyone traveling from Kaduna to Abuja used to say their final prayers before reaching Abuja. But today, you can leave after Isha prayers, eat your food, and set out on the road from Kaduna to Abuja or Abuja to Kaduna. Can anyone say progress hasn’t been made in security? Let us stop deceiving ourselves!” he said.

The Governor directly addressed Ulamas, saying no one is closer to the people and better positioned to advise the grassroots than religious scholars, and urged them to guide the public correctly and counter misleading narratives on Facebook about insecurity and poverty.

“Who has brought more development in education, healthcare, public works benefiting our people in agriculture, and roads than Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu? There is no equal in the history of this country. Those who want power given to them are the ones bringing up the ‘Northern agenda,'” he said.

He recalled that in 2022, no one could travel to Birnin Gwari even in broad daylight.

“I am here in Kaduna. In 2022, everyone here knows you couldn’t travel — not even at night, but even in broad daylight — to Birnin Gwari. Today, because of the assistance Bola Ahmed Tinubu provided, you can set out at 11:00 PM or 12:00 midnight and travel to Birnin Gwari without any trouble. Is that not progress? So let us fear God!”
