I Feel Relieved I’m Not On Wike’s List – Nasarawa Governor Sule
Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has reacted to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s explosive naming of three APC governors as opponents of his Rainbow Coalition, saying he was relieved to have escaped the list as the political dispute deepens.
Sule reacted on Tuesday during an interview with TVC, days after Wike identified three All Progressives Congress governors as opponents of the political coalition.
Wike had named Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun as the APC governors he said were fighting the coalition.
Responding to the development, Sule said he was grateful that he was not among those named by the FCT minister.
He said, “Thank God I’m not on that list. I feel relieved that I’m not on Wike’s list of APC governors fighting the Rainbow Coalition.”
Sule also questioned the political implications of Wike’s position, noting that the FCT minister remains a member of President Bola Tinubu’s administration despite not belonging to the APC.
He said, “Wike is one of the ministers in this administration, and if he says he wants to support President Tinubu from another party, remember he’s not an APC member.”
The governor’s comments came amid disagreements among political actors over the Rainbow Coalition and its relevance ahead of the 2027 elections.
Sule said the purpose of a political alliance should be properly understood, suggesting that the position of the Governors’ Forum on the matter may have been misunderstood.
He said, “What’s the whole essence of an alliance? I think the Governors’ Forum message was misunderstood.”
Wike had previously accused the three APC governors of working against the coalition, which brings together opposition political interests ahead of the 2027 elections.
The latest exchange adds to the growing political discussions surrounding alliances, party affiliations and the realignment of political forces ahead of the 2027 general election.
