M. Gur Foundation Hosts International Qur’an Conference, Drug Abuse Awareness Programme In Biu
The M. Gur Foundation, led by its Founder, Alhaji Mamman Ibrahim Gur, has hosted a major International Qur’an Conference and NDLEA Drug Abuse Awareness programme in Biu, Borno State.
The landmark conference brought together prominent Islamic scholars, Qur’an memorizers and distinguished guests from Ghana and Chad, alongside renowned scholars and dignitaries from various parts of Nigeria.

Held under the auspices of the Foundation, the event featured Qur’anic recitations and special prayers for peace, unity and the progress of Nigeria and humanity at large.
During the conference, Alhaji Mamman Ibrahim Gur was honoured with a special Award of Recognition presented by representatives from Ghana, in appreciation of his contributions to education, Qur’anic learning, religious activities and community service.

As part of activities marking the conference, the M. Gur Foundation also paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Biu, at his palace. The delegation, comprising Islamic scholars and representatives of the Foundation, was warmly received by the traditional ruler.
During the visit, the Foundation presented an Award of Recognition to the Emir as a gesture of respect and appreciation for receiving the delegation.
The programme was also attended by distinguished guests and officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, where important issues relating to religion, moral upbringing and community well-being were discussed, with emphasis on the dangers of drug abuse and substance misuse.







NDLEA officials sensitised participants and members of the public on the dangers of drug abuse, stressing the need to protect young people from the menace and to strengthen moral values within society.
The conference served as an important platform for bringing together faith, knowledge, moral education and public awareness, while promoting unity and collective efforts towards building a better future for young people and society.
