Gombe Govt Printing 20,000 Fake PDP Membership Cards To Cause Crisis During Guber Primary — PDP Alleges

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Gombe State Chapter has accused the administration of Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of producing 20,000 fake PDP membership cards to disrupt the party’s repeat governorship primary election.

In a press release dated 28th September, 2026 and signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Abdulkadir Ahmad Dukku, the PDP said it received information from reliable sources that the state government has engaged some people to produce the fake cards ahead of the primary scheduled for Tuesday, 29th September, 2026 as directed by the Federal High Court, Gombe.

According to the statement, the alleged 20,000 fake cards are to be distributed to women and others with an inducement of about N10,000 per person to cause crisis during the election and blame the PDP.

The party further alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, intends to use the plot as evidence to claim that the primary election was marred by crisis and denial of voting rights to non-PDP members whom the APC sponsored with fake cards.

The PDP however said the plan will fail, noting that only those who registered with the PDP and whose names have been submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as provided by the Electoral Act, 2022 as amended, can participate in the voting.

“Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s administration have failed the people of Gombe by using state resources for TikTokers who came from other states to support the failed government in hiding its failures from the public. The people of Gombe State are counting down the days to vote them out of government,” the statement added.

The party urged its members to remain peaceful and law-abiding during the election and called on security agencies to investigate the alleged evil plan.

“The fear of PDP in Gombe State is the beginning of wisdom,” the statement concluded.
