“Where Is The Government? – Kannywood Actress Firdausi Yahaya Breaks Down In Tears Over Abducted Kaduna Family

Popular Kannywood actress Firdausi Yahaya has broken down in tears over the abduction of a Kaduna family, questioning the presence and value of government amid rising insecurity.

In a highly emotional video that has gone viral, the actress was seen weeping uncontrollably as she reacted to the footage of Ahmed Abubakar Zakka, his wife and their six-month-old daughter sitting on the bare ground in captivity, with an armed bandit pointing a gun at them.

Visibly shattered, Yahaya said she had never been moved to speak publicly about happenings in Nigeria until she saw the video.

“In Nigeria, we are in a state of many trials, a lot of things have happened. But I have never seen anything that broke my heart and terrified me like this, concerning this video. Ever since I saw the video of these people on the ground,” she said in tears.

Her most piercing cry was directed at the authorities:

“For the sake of Allah, where is the government? Where is the government? What is the use of our government in Nigeria?”

Yahaya, who said she had never come out to speak on national issues before, made a passionate appeal for the rescue of the family, with particular concern for the infant child.

“This young girl, this little girl, who knows nothing of the world, knows nothing about life at all… For God’s sake, I have never come out to speak,” she said, wiping away tears.

“I have never come out to speak about the things happening in Nigeria. But please, I am begging you, if there is a way to help these servants of Allah. Please help them, even because of this little girl, this infant girl who knows nothing about the world… For the sake of Allah and the Prophet, if possible, please help them. Please… Nigeria, we are in trouble.”

The video that triggered her reaction showed Zakka, who was abducted on October 6, 2026, at Alrahus Estate in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, holding his six-month-old daughter and pleading for help as his abductors demand N300 million ransom.

Zakka, his wife and their infant daughter were among several persons abducted when bandits invaded the estate at about 11:30 p.m.

The abduction is part of a series of attacks reported in Millennium City and neighbouring communities on the outskirts of Kaduna metropolis, including the abduction of a pregnant woman and the killing of a man identified as Sikiru and abduction of his wife, their 14-year-old son and six others in PW Baban Saura.
