MOAUM Suspends Final Year Week After Students’ Indecent Dressing As Priest, Nun
The Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi (MOAUM) has suspended all Final Year Brethren (FYB) social activities on campus with immediate effect.
This is contained in a memo dated 16th October, 2026, issued from the Office of the Dean of Students, Dr. Nelson Orkaan Alyebo.

According to the memo, the decision followed gross violation of conditions under which approval was granted for the Student Union / Final Year Brethren (FYB) Week.
The University recalled that approval was issued to the Student Union to carry out the Student Union Week concurrently with the FYB Week subject to strict conditions including:
i. Responsible conduct of activities in accordance with University Rules and Regulations;
ii. Strict observance of decency in dressing; and
iii. Prohibition of display of acts capable of bringing the name of the University to disrepute.
The memo stated that regrettably, these conditions were flagrantly violated during the said activities. Consequent upon this violation, the FYB Week and all its associated social activities are hereby suspended on campus with immediate effect.
It added that all those involved in the indecent acts that were hitherto cautioned against will be duly investigated and reprimanded as appropriate in line with the University extant rules.
The suspension is coming after photos went viral showing two final year students — a male student dressed in a priest’s cassock and a female student dressed in a revealing nun outfit — posing in suggestive manners on campus, an act the University considers indecent and capable of bringing its name to disrepute.
