The African Action Congress, AAC, has written to President Bola Tinubu requesting approval to inaugurate its Presidential Campaign Council for its candidate, Omoyele Sowore, at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.
In a letter dated October 21, 2026 and signed by its National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminghena, the party requested to hold the inauguration on November 11, 2026, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party also requested feeding and logistical support for 5,000 participants expected at the event.
The letter, titled “REQUEST FOR APPROVAL TO HOLD THE INAUGURATION OF THE AAC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL AT THE PRESIDENTIAL VILLA AND FOR LOGISTICAL SUPPORT FOR 5,000 PERSONS FROM HOME AND ABROAD,” reads in part:
“On behalf of the African Action Congress (AAC), I respectfully write to request approval to hold the inauguration ceremony of our Presidential Campaign Council on the 11th of November 2026 at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja, in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
“In the spirit of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, and equal treatment of political parties, we also request the provision of food, drinks, and other logistical support for 5,000 participants from home and abroad at the event, consistent with the arrangements reportedly extended to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar political engagement.
“We believe that granting this request would demonstrate the Presidency’s commitment to fairness, equal access, and the principle that public institutions must serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination.”
The party said it looks forward to a favourable consideration and requested information on the applicable procedures and conditions for approval.
The request comes after the Presidential Villa recently hosted the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council.
