Forget Social Media, See The Crowd In Kaduna — Minister Says Nigerians Excited For Tinubu Second Term

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has said Nigerians love President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging the public to ignore social media criticisms and opposition talks.

Idris stated this on Saturday at the flag-off rally of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council for Tinubu’s re-election bid in Kaduna State.

He described the massive turnout at the rally as proof of Tinubu’s acceptance among Nigerians.

“We have always been saying this: forget about all the social media news, forget about all the talk from the opposition. Asiwaju is loved by Nigerians,” Idris said.

The minister described Kaduna as a significant location for the flag-off, noting its historical importance as the former capital of Northern Nigeria.

According to him, the presence of supporters from different political backgrounds showed a willingness to unite behind Tinubu and his administration’s reform agenda.

Idris said Nigerians are increasingly recognising the potential benefits of the government’s policies and prospects for economic recovery.

He acknowledged current challenges but expressed optimism that the reforms would improve economic conditions.

“There may be challenges at this moment, but we are moving away from that. We are consolidating on progress, and Nigeria is going to be better for it,” he said.

“We are excited; everybody is excited. All of us are moving in the direction of progress, in the direction of prosperity, like the President has promised every Nigerian,” he added.

The minister challenged opposition parties to demonstrate their level of public support, dismissing criticisms of the president’s popularity.

“Nigeria will vote President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the second time, and Nigeria is going to march towards the prosperity that the president has promised all Nigerians,” Idris said.

Also speaking at the rally, spokesperson for the APC Presidential Campaign Council and Minister of Solid Minerals, Mr Dele Alake, described the gathering as an encouraging moment for the ruling party.

“It is a very excited moment for most of us here. And I see the crowd here, lively. That is a pointer to what will happen in the next election,” Alake said.

He said Nigerians would support Tinubu’s re-election because he has the experience and determination to guide the country towards progress.

“Now, it is the season for prosperity. Nigerians are beginning to see the results of those reforms, and they have been trickling in, and they will continue to trickle in,” Alake said.
