Emir Of Gumel, Alhaji Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, Dies In Egypt
The Emir of Gumel in Jigawa State, Alhaji Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, CON, has died.
The monarch passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, in Egypt.
According to Daily Trust report, his death has thrown the Gumel Emirate and the entire Jigawa State into mourning.
The revered traditional ruler was the custodian of the historic Gumel Emirate, one of the prominent traditional institutions in northern Nigeria known for promoting peace, unity, cultural values and community development.
As Emir, he provided leadership to the people of the emirate and played a key role in the social and cultural affairs of his domain.
His passing is described as a significant loss to his family, associates, traditional title holders, community leaders and residents across the emirate.
Prayers have been offered for Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and for his family and the people of Gumel to have the strength to bear the loss.
