Prince George Begins £63,298-A-Year Eton College Education Where His Father And 20 UK Prime Ministers Schooled
According to CNN report, Britain’s Prince George has begun his secondary education at the prestigious Eton College, the elite all-boys boarding school that produced his father, Prince William, and 20 former UK Prime Ministers.
The 13-year-old, who is second in line to the British throne, arrived at the historic institution on Tuesday for his first day, accompanied by his parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Catherine.
Despite the gloomy fall weather, the young prince appeared in high spirits as he walked across the school’s cobblestoned School Yard, which features a statue of King Henry VI, who founded the school in 1440.
George, who was dressed in a jacket, shirt and tie and dark trousers on arrival, later changed into Eton’s traditional uniform – a black tailcoat, waistcoat, pinstriped trousers and stiff white collar.
The Wales family was received by the school’s Head Master, Simon Henderson, and Provost, Nicholas Coleridge. Henderson was heard telling his new student: “Welcome, good luck, enjoy it.”
Eton College, located in Berkshire, a stone’s throw from Windsor Castle and a short distance from the Wales family’s home at Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park, educates boys aged 13 to 18. The school admits about 270 students per academic year who live in 25 boarding houses, each housing about 55 students under a House Master.
Prince William attended Eton from 1995, while his brother, Prince Harry, attended from 1998.
The school is one of Britain’s most famous and expensive fee-paying schools, with current fees for the 2025/26 academic year put at £63,298.80 (about $84,900). Its notable alumni include former Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and David Cameron, and actors Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddleston and Eddie Redmayne.
Before Eton, Prince George attended Lambrook School, a private preparatory school near Windsor, alongside his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
