Troops Foil Cattle Rustling, Recover Over 500 Cattle In Kaduna – Operation FANSAN YAMMA
Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have foiled a massive cattle rustling operation and recovered over 500 rustled cattle in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The operation was carried out by troops of Sector 1, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA on 8th September, 2026, following a distress call from locals.
According to a statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, troops received information about cattle rustling activity at Rugar Mande Kurmin.
“Responding to the distress call from locals on cattle rustling activity at Rugar Mande Kurmin, troops swiftly mobilised to the suspected withdrawal routes of the terrorists and formed blocking positions,” the statement said.
The troops engaged the terrorists from multiple positions, forcing them to withdraw in disarray and abandon all the rustled cattle.
The troops recovered all the rustled cattle and subsequently handed them over to their respective owners.
The military said the successful operation further buttresses the unwavering commitment of troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to secure lives and property while disrupting criminal activities and denying criminal elements freedom of action across the Joint Operations Area.
Operation FANSAN YAMMA urged the general public to continue to support security agencies with relevant information to enable the Theatre eradicate terrorist elements within the Joint Operations Area.
