“Go And Look For People To Remove Us With Ballots, Not Violence And Insults” — APC Deputy National Chairman North Ali Bukar Dalori Fires Back At ‘ Tinubu Must Go’ Protesters

The Deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ali Bukar Dalori, has warned opposition protesters against resorting to violence, insults, and provocative T-shirts in their quest for political power.

Dalori stated this in an interview with NTA News, reacting to the recent wave of ” Tinubu Must Go” protests in Maiduguri, Borno State.

According to the APC leader, those engaging in protests and violence should not be doing so. He questioned the logic of destroying one’s own country out of anger over a political disagreement, stressing that wearing specific shirts and insulting leaders is not a legitimate political strategy.

He said the APC did not take over government through violence. He explained that if opposition groups want power but lack popular support, violence is not the answer. Instead, they should go out and seek the support of the people, just like the APC did, and try to remove the ruling party through the ballot box.

Dalori also condemned the use of inappropriate language and provocative jerseys by protesters. He criticized political opportunists who come from nowhere, moving from one state to another to tarnish the reputation of a state while claiming to be activists.

Drawing from his decades of political experience, Dalori said he has known politics from the foundation, right from the era of the Great Nigeria Peoples Party (GNPP) and the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) till date. He noted that despite looking like a young man, he has been in active politics for decades and understands the game from its roots.

He therefore called on the protesters to act with sense, think deeply, and analyze issues properly.

He declared that what the protesters are currently doing will not remove the APC from power, vowing that whether they like it or not, the APC will continue to form government from Tinubu at the top down to the grassroots, and from the grassroots up to the top.

Dalori’s comments come days after five youths were arrested in Maiduguri for wearing and printing ” Tinubu Must Go” T-shirts and were arraigned before Chief Magistrate Court I, and after dozens of other youths staged a solidarity march on Saturday wearing the same shirts.

The APC leader insisted that legitimate power is won through votes, not through street violence or insults.
