Buba Galadima Says Obi’s Strength From South, Kwankwaso’s Strong Personality In North Will Deliver Victory
A chieftain of the Narional Democratic Congress Party, NDC, Buba Galadima, has said Peter Obi’s strength from the South and Rabiu Kwankwaso’s strong personality in Northern Nigeria and across the country will deliver victory for the duo if the election is free, fair and transparent.
A chieftain of the National Democratic Congress Party, NDC, Buba Galadima, has said Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso will win the presidential election if it is free, fair and transparent, unless government machinery is used to take it away from them.
Galadima spoke on Channel Television Politics Today programme where he commented on the strength of the Obi-Kwankwaso momentum and the strategy ahead of the election.
Responding to questions on the geographical strongholds of Kwankwaso and Peter Obi, Galadima said a recent national poll organized by one of the presidential candidates showed Peter Obi and Kwankwaso leading clearly in four of the six geopolitical zones — North Central, South East, South South and South West.
According to him, the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, came a distant third in the poll with no zone accredited to him.
He however alleged that the current political moves by the ruling party were suggestive of electoral malpractice.
“But if they are doing the kalo-kalo type of politics that we see in Nigeria, he may announce himself, having met the INEC Chairman, some prominent Nigerians in France, and we don’t know what they are doing. And having assembled 600 professors in Kaduna to declare support for him, it is preparatory to maybe what we consider a fraud in this election,” Galadima said.
The NNPP chieftain demanded that none of the 600 professors who declared support for Tinubu in Kaduna should be recruited to superintend the elections.
He said they have already taken sides by declaring support for a candidate and their involvement would compromise the neutrality required to conduct the polls.
“As a political party, none of those 600 professors should be recruited to superintend in the elections, because they have already taken sides by declaring their support for a candidate in this election,” he added.
