Hausa Trader Mallam Idris Returns Sack Full Of Millions Saved For Deaf And Dumb Man In Warri After His Death

In an inspiring demonstration of integrity, trust and fear of God that has touched millions of Nigerians, a Hausa man identified as Mallam Idris, operating at Ogbe-Ijoh Market in Warri, Delta State, has earned nationwide praise after returning a sack full of millions of Naira he had been saving for a deaf and dumb man who later died.

The viral video and confirmed by eyewitness accounts, is that Mallam Idris and the deaf and dumb man — had an understanding for years. The deaf and dumb man, who is Igbo, did not keep his money in a bank. Every day, whatever he made from begging and hustling in the neighborhood, he would take to Mallam Idris to save for him.

It was either the deaf and dumb man himself who chose Mallam Idris because of his honesty, or it was an agreement between them. But everyday, he would bring the money, and Mallam Idris would tie it — and throw it inside separate sacks  — systematically saving a huge amount for him over many years.

Time passed, and then news came that the deaf and dumb man had passed away.

Instead of eating the money, Mallam Idris did what many said not would do. He brought out the bags containing all the money the deaf and dumb man had been giving him, gathered people to help him loosen and arrange them because the money was too much, and started asking if anyone knew the family of the deceased so he could return it to them.

As seen in the viral video, Mallam Idris personally unsealed the sacks in the presence of the family and crowd, counted the cash himself, and handed over the full amount.

Nigerians who watched the video have been left shocked. As one viral post that shared the story wrote: “I can beat my chest and tell you that not everyone can do this, even so many called men of God, some people will even eat the money when the person is still alive, talk more of when the person died… This is free gift from God.”

Many are now praying that Mallam Idris will not go unnoticed, saying God must use this opportunity to lift him higher, with some even saying, “This is the type of person we need as our president.”
