Operation FANSAN YAMMA: Troops Arrest 3 Terrorist Collaborators With Guns in Kaduna

Terrorists Arrested

Troops of Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have recorded fresh successes in Kaduna and Katsina States, arresting suspected terrorist collaborators and destroying terrorist enclaves.

The Media Information Officer, Lt. Col Aliyu Danja, disclosed this in a statement on August 28, 2026.

In Kaduna, Danja said on August 27, troops of Sector 1 acting on information apprehended a suspected terrorist collaborator found with 2 locally fabricated guns and 13 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag.

During preliminary investigation, the suspect disclosed he was tasked to deliver the weapons to another individual.

“Acting on the information from the suspect, troops swiftly conducted a follow-up operation and apprehended 2 additional suspects connected with the movement of the weapons,” Danja said. The 3 suspects and recovered items are undergoing investigation.

In Katsina, troops of Sector 2, supported by other security agencies, conducted a clearance operation on August 28 against terrorist enclaves around Maharba and Karaduwa in Matazu LGA.

Troops cleared and destroyed enclaves and structures used by terrorists, including an enclave linked to notorious terrorist leader Kachalla Muhammadu Filani, whose group has been terrorizing civilians in Matazu and Musawa LGAs. The leader narrowly escaped as troops advanced.

Further exploitation led to recovery of a RPG-7 tube, motorcycle, mobile phones and other items. Troops conducted fighting patrols to consolidate gains and deny terrorists freedom of action.

Danja said the successes underscore sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt weapons movement and deny use of enclaves, reaffirming resolve to degrade terrorists through intelligence-driven operations.
