Make Nigeria Affordable Again: Atiku Receives Former First Lady Aisha Buhari, Says Nigerians Deserve Economy That Restores Dignity

Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate for the 2027 election, Atiku Abubakar, says he was delighted to receive former First Lady, H.E. Aisha Buhari.

In a statement on Wednesday, Atiku described her visit as warm and deeply appreciated, noting that beyond courtesies, it was a reminder of the urgent responsibility before all who seek a better Nigeria — to put the welfare, dignity and future of the people first.

According to Atiku, families across the country are being stretched by the rising cost of food, transport, education, healthcare and other basic necessities.

“Nigerians deserve an economy that rewards hard work, restores opportunity and allows every family to live with dignity and hope. That is the Nigeria we must build together, a country that works for its people again,” he said.

He added: “We must ease the burden, restore hope and Make Nigeria Affordable Again.”

The visit comes amid rising concerns over cost of living, with petrol prices hitting N1,500 per litre in several northern states and inflation affecting food and transport costs nationwide.
