Re-electing Tinubu Is Northern Nigeria’s Moral Political Duty — Doguwa
APC lawmaker, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has declared that Northern Nigeria owes President Bola Tinubu a “moral political obligation” to secure his re-election in 2027, urging Northerners to unite behind the President.
Doguwa, who leads the Northern Caucus in the House of Representatives, made the declaration in a personally signed statement, insisting that the region should support Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
The lawmaker said a collective commitment to Tinubu’s re-election would help sustain peaceful coexistence across the country, making the President’s return to office a responsibility Northerners should embrace.
“Working for President Tinubu’s re-election is a moral political obligation on the people of Northern Nigeria,” Doguwa stated, framing support for the President as more than an ordinary political choice.
He further called on Northerners to demonstrate their support through the ballot, urging them to work together to secure Tinubu’s re-election.
“We must rise individually and collectively to unconditionally vote for Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term for the continuous peaceful coexistence of our great country, Nigeria,” he said.
The lawmaker made the remarks on Saturday while receiving APC members, area supervisors and council advisers from Doguwa, who paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Kaduna.
Doguwa explained that the visit formed part of preparations for the forthcoming general elections in his Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency, as party members begin positioning themselves ahead of the polls.
He also expressed confidence in the level of support Tinubu would receive from Northern Nigeria, arguing that the region’s votes would be crucial to the President’s re-election bid.
Despite what he described as propaganda against the President and the APC, Doguwa maintained that the daily solidarity he receives indicates that support for Tinubu and other party candidates remains strong in the North.
