Suleja Horror: Security Guard Arrested For Allegedly Raping 11-Year-Old Girl To Death, Dumping Body Inside Church Well
The Niger State Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old security man, Godwin Dauda, for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl, Christabel Albert, to death and dumping her corpse inside a well in a church in Suleja.
The incident was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun.
According to the police, a report of a missing person was lodged at A Division, Suleja on 20th September, 2026 that 11-year-old Christabel Albert who left home on 19th September to attend a birthday ceremony of a relative had not returned.
Later same day, a pastor from the Apostolic Church, Suleja reported at the station that a corpse was found inside a well within the church premises. Police moved to the scene and with the help of LGA welfare staff, the corpse was evacuated to General Hospital Suleja where it was identified as the missing girl.
During investigation, Dauda, who was attached to the church as a security man, was suspected and discovered to have fled to Kuje in the FCT. He was arrested on 23rd September at about 8pm.
“During interrogation, he confessed that he lured the girl to his security room in the church on 19th September, 2026, and raped her to death. He added that in his effort to conceal the crime, he dropped the corpse inside the well and ran away,” the police spokesman said.
He said preliminary investigation is ongoing and the suspect will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Minna for diligent prosecution.
