Yari Assures Tinubu: We’re Mobilising Emirs, Ulama, Imams Across North — 100% Votes Guaranteed
Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, has assured President Bola Tinubu of overwhelming support from northern Nigeria in the 2027 general election.
Speaking Saturday at the APC presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna, Yari said:
“Northern Nigeria is 100% yours, insha Allah. This is the promise that we make, and you are going to see it in January 2027.”
The former Zamfara governor said the campaign would focus on infrastructure, healthcare, education and human capital development, and that engagements with traditional rulers, ulama and imams were underway to explain the administration’s programmes.
He dismissed claims that the Tinubu government hates farmers: “They are lying that the government of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu does not like farmers, that you hate farmers. That is not true,” adding that about two million farmers had committed to supporting Tinubu.
Yari accused critics of deploying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to circulate false information and urged the campaign to counter with the government’s achievements.
He cited economic indicators — claiming the naira improved from near N1,800 to about N1,300 against the dollar, foreign reserves rose from $3.9bn to $54-57.7bn, and trade balance rose from N44bn in 2023 to N7.5trn — figures that would require independent verification.
“The governors, your commanders in the states, are doing a remarkable job. We are going to complement them, and by God’s grace, the victory is ours,” Yari said.
