Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has gifted N1 million each to 30 graduating students of the Indimi Islamic Centre who successfully memorized the Holy Qur’an.

The graduates were fully sponsored by renowned philanthropist and businessman, Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, through the Indimi Islamic Trust.

The graduation ceremony was held at the Indimi Mosque along Old Damboa Road in Maiduguri and was attended by several Islamic scholars, senior government officials and members of the business community from across the state.

Governor Zulum, while congratulating the graduates, urged Islamic scholars in the state to continue preaching modesty, peace and moral values as part of efforts to rebuild society.

He commended Alhaji Indimi for his consistent support for education in the North-East and across Nigeria, describing his interventions as critical to human capital development.

Alhaji Indimi, founder of the Indimi Islamic Trust, has championed several educational causes in the region, including a recent N2 billion donation to the University of Maiduguri education endowment fund.

The 30 beneficiaries were celebrated for completing the memorization of the Holy Qur’an, a feat described by scholars at the event as both spiritual and intellectual excellence.
