2027: NDC Names Dickson, Peter Obi To Lead Campaign Council, Kwankwaso, Zuwoghe As Vice-Chairmen

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has appointed its National Leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, as chairman of its National Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections, with its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, named as co-chairman.

The party announced the appointments in a statement published on its X account on Sunday, outlining the leadership structure that will coordinate its campaign activities and mobilisation efforts nationwide.

Under the arrangement, the NDC National Chairman, Senator Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, will serve as vice-chairman, while the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has been appointed co-vice-chairman.

The party’s National Secretary, Barrister Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, will serve as secretary of the council, while Mallam Ibrahim Hussain Abdulkarim has been named director-general.

According to the party, the council will provide strategic leadership for its campaign.

“The National Campaign Council will provide strategic leadership, coordinate campaign activities across the country, and drive the mobilisation of Nigerians behind the party’s vision of a new, just, and prosperous Nigeria,” the statement said.

The party added that its campaign would be “people-centred and issue-based,” focusing on the needs of Nigerians and policy issues.

“We call on all party members, supporters, and well-meaning Nigerians to remain united and focused as we work together to rescue our country,” the party said.

The appointments come as political parties begin organising their campaign structures and mobilising supporters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
