Betta Edu: Tinubu’s Reforms Creating Opportunities For Grassroots Women In Agric, Enterprise, Energy, Skills development and Social Investment.

Director of Women Mobilisation of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Betta Edu, says President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms are creating new opportunities for grassroots women across Nigeria.

Edu made the statement in her Independence Day message to Nigerians, urging women to identify and take advantage of government programmes in agriculture, enterprise, energy, skills development and social investment.

She said her directorate would intensify door-to-door sensitisation and community-level mobilisation to ensure women and households have information about available opportunities and how to access them.

“President Tinubu’s reforms are creating new pathways for economic participation,” Edu said.

“Our responsibility is to take that message to the grassroots and ensure that women know where opportunities exist, how to access them, and how to engage the relevant institutions.”

She said the benefits of the reforms would be more meaningful if citizens, particularly those at the grassroots, understood the programmes available to them and the institutions responsible for delivering them.

Edu also paid tribute to Nigeria’s founding fathers and heroines, saying their sacrifices and vision laid the foundation for the country’s independence, adding that their vision demands every generation contributes to making Nigeria stronger.

She said mobilisation structures would continue taking information directly to women in their communities and households and would also be used to campaign for President Tinubu’s re-election for a second term.

Edu called for national unity and peaceful coexistence as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.
