Less Than 24 Hours After Dumping ADC Over Campaign Appointment, Youth Coordinator Zulkifilu Dalhatu Joins APC Under Seyi Tinubu, Begs Forgiveness For Past Attacks

Less than 24 hours after resigning from the African Democratic Congress, ADC, over alleged injustice in campaign appointments, youth coordinator Arc. Zulkifilu Dalhatu Yahuza has defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Dalhatu announced his defection on his verified Facebook page on Friday, sharing a photo of himself shaking hands with Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in front of a portrait of the President.

” I thank Allah who has shown me this day that I have joined the APC party, under the leadership of Seyi Tinubu.

I am also using this opportunity to seek forgiveness and apologize for any propaganda or statements I ever spread in the past that affected the party or its leaders. Time has taught us many things, and a person should be brave enough to correct his mistake when he realizes he has made a mistake.

May Allah make this new step be a source of goodness, unity and progress.”

The dramatic U-turn comes after Dalhatu had on September 25, announced his resignation from the ADC, accusing the Atiku Abubakar-led coalition of injustice and youth exclusion.

In a video address delivered in Hausa, Dalhatu said he was promised the position of Head of Online Media for the ADC Presidential Campaign Council after meeting with Atiku Abubakar and Alhaji Kashim Imam, Matawalle of Borno, at the instance of Titi Abubakar, wife of the Waziri of Adamawa.

According to him, when the official campaign council list was released, the position was given to Moji Rhodes-Vivour, whom he described as someone who was not part of the formation of the coalition and does not understand media operations.

“What will be the difference between APC and ADC? What is the difference between Tinubu and those we are trying to promote in our movement? If injustice begins now during the campaign, what should we expect when the government is formed?” he had asked in his resignation video.

“I hereby inform you that I have left the ADC party. I have washed my hands of it and returned to being independent,” he had said.

Barely a day after that declaration of being “independent,” Dalhatu has now joined the APC, the same party he was fighting against, and apologized for all previous propaganda against the party and its leaders.

In the photo posted, Dalhatu is seen in a brown brocade kaftan shaking hands with Seyi Tinubu, who is wearing his signature “City Boy” cap and a navy blue shirt.

As of press time, the ADC Presidential Campaign Council is yet to react to both his resignation and his immediate defection to the ruling party.
