“Nobody Can Beat Kwankwaso In Kano If Election Is Free And Fair” — Senator Umeh
Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, has declared that no candidate can defeat NDC vice presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, in Kano State in a credible election.
Umeh made the declaration on Channels Television’s Politics Today while responding to questions on electoral strengths and state flips ahead of the general polls.
According to him, Kwankwaso remains unbeatable in Kano regardless of political noise in the state.
“Nobody can beat Kwankwaso in Kano. He is the presidential candidate of NNPP. No matter the noise they are making in Kano, nobody will beat him there. I can bet it, once the election is credible, transparent, free, and fair,” Umeh said.
He said he is working closely with Kwankwaso and other leaders of the party, adding that the party is more prepared to contest as an opposition with credible candidates.
“I am working with him and the other leaders of the party very closely. The party is well more prepared to be an opposition party that will contest this election with very credible candidates,” he added.
The Anambra Senator also cautioned against premature declarations of victory in any state, saying elections can change within 24 hours.
“It’s like one counting his chickens before they are hatched. We have 4 months to campaign. What we need to do is to allow joining of issues by all the candidates, let them do debates. Saying today ‘I will win here, I will win there’ — elections can change within 24 hours,” Umeh stated.
