Return To APC And Join Hands With Jamilu Gwamna To Move Gombe Forward — Kannywood Actor Baba Sadiq Tells Pantami

A Kannywood actor, Baba Sadiq, has issued a public appeal to former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, urging him to consider returning to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

In a statement dated October 19, 2026, titled “Malam Pantami, Politics Is A Journey Of Patience, Perseverance And Reflection,” Sadiq said he was making the call with respect and honour.

“I call on Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami with respect and honour to consider returning to the APC, the party that gave him opportunity and prominence in politics, and to join hands with Dr. Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna to move Gombe State forward,” he said.

Sadiq said Dr. Gwamna had spent many years struggling in Gombe politics with patience and perseverance until Allah brought him to this time, adding that this shows success in politics requires time, planning and patience.

He cited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as an example, noting that the President spent many years struggling to achieve his ambition of leading the country before Allah granted him success.

“Therefore, Malam should not think that politics is over for him because of the current situation,” he said.

The actor described Pantami as a man blessed with both religious and secular knowledge with admirers across the country, but advised him to review his political style.

“I advise him to review his political style, move closer to the masses and stakeholders, reduce the protocols that prevent people from having access to discuss with him, and listen to advice from everyone. Knowledge and position should not prevent a person from benefiting from the advice of someone who is not as knowledgeable as him,” Sadiq stated.

He also called on Pantami to examine the reasons why some of his long-time associates chose a different political path.

“Not every departure is out of hatred, and not every change of opinion is betrayal. Sometimes, a person changes course in order to have the opportunity to contribute and give advice that he believes will benefit the community,” he said.

Sadiq defended those who changed political positions, saying it was not for money or worldly things.

“For those of us who changed position, it is not for money or any worldly thing. We spent years supporting Malam even before he entered this political journey. We return to where we feel our advice will be heard and we will be given the opportunity to contribute. Politics is not just about money, it requires care, respect for supporters and treating them well,” he said.

In conclusion, Sadiq wished Prof. Pantami well and hoped he would receive the message as advice from someone who once stood with him, not as an insult or hostility.

“He still has the opportunity to re-strategise, build a good relationship with the people, and continue to strive to achieve his political ambition.

“Truth is bitter, but accepting it is the way out. May Allah guide us to what is best for Gombe State and its people. Amen.

“I know I will be insulted, but truth is one, if you reject it, it becomes falsehood,” he wrote.
