2027: APC Will Run Issue-Based Campaign, Showcase Tinubu’s Achievements — Yari
The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has said the ruling party will run an issue-based campaign centred on the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu rather than personal attacks on opposition candidates.
Yari, former Governor of Zamfara State, stated this on Tuesday after meeting with President Tinubu alongside the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.
He said the council has resolved to present the record of the APC-led Federal Government to Nigerians as the basis for seeking another mandate in the January 2027 presidential poll.
“As a Council, what we say we are going to do? We are going to do a campaign with the records. A responsible campaign, no insults, no calling of names because there’s no name before us, but we have a record before us to show to Nigerians,” Yari said.
According to him, the APC campaign will avoid name-calling and be driven by evidence of government performance and the argument for continuity.
He said the campaign will provide an opportunity to engage Nigerians on policies and programmes implemented under the Tinubu administration and make a case for their continuation.
“This is what our party did, this what our government did, so because of that, we are asking, pleading Nigerians to look at this record carefully so that they give us a second chance for continuity,” Yari added.
