Kwankwaso At 70: Gov Abba Yusuf Celebrates Mentor, Hails His Political Legacy

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated the former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

In a press release signed by his Director General, Media and Publicity, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on October 21, 2026, Governor Yusuf described the milestone as an important occasion to celebrate Kwankwaso’s life and leadership.

“Governor Yusuf described the milestone as an important occasion to celebrate Senator Kwankwaso’s life, leadership and contributions to the development of Kano State and Nigeria,” the statement said.

The Governor acknowledged Kwankwaso’s role in the state’s political development and noted that the birthday provides an opportunity to reflect on his years of public service.

He said Kwankwaso’s contributions to governance, infrastructure development and growth of democratic participation in Kano State remain notable.

Governor Yusuf prayed for the former Minister of Defence.

“Governor Yusuf prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the former Minister of Defense, His Excellency Sen. Kwankwaso good health, long life and renewed strength to continue contributing to the development of the state and the nation,” the statement added.

He also wished him more years of peace and happiness.

“Happy 70th birthday Your Excellency,” the statement concluded.
